Why Confidentiality is Important

As a lawyer, I am constantly speaking to people about why it’s important to observe the rules of confidentiality. For some members of Alcoholics Anonymous, the lesson may have come too late. In short, if a fellow AA member discloses something about a possible merger within his company, disclosing that information to others in advance of the event amounts to insider trading and is unlawful.
